Suggested Groups to Contact Regarding Regional Energy Revolution Rally Participation

Numbers count! So, we'd like your help recruiting others from your town to attend the rally. From years of experience, we'd suggest that rally participation recruiters focus on invitations to the following groups:

l. Members of any climate group in town, whether an MCAN chapter, sustainability group, transition team, etc.

2. Members of a community supported agriculture (CSA) group or garden club

3. Any "Green Team" at school - consider both public and private schools

4. Environment or science clubs at local schools, again considering both public and private schools

5. Churches, especially those persons on the environment/social issues committees, or in youth groups within the church

6. The League of Women Voters, which has taken a positive stance on actions to minimize climate change

7. The Democratic Party's local organization, as the climate is one of their primary political issues now

8. Bike clubs/groups, which are generally filled with environmentalists who support the cause

9. Runner's groups, which should be encouraged to run to, and within, Concord

10.Your town's colonial minuteman company - a natural complement to the Energy Revolution Rally

Beyond direct group contacts, reach out to everyone: poster the town (our poster is available here). Many church bulletin boards, Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, Brueggers, supermarkets, libraries, etc. have places to post local events.

Finally, publicize the event in the many local papers that various organizations publish, as well as online with Yahoo and other sites.
