Planned Agenda for the Regional Energy Revolution Rally

(Unless otherwise noted, all events take place at the flagpole located ~100 yards south of the North Bridge Visitor Center, which is at 174 Liberty Street in Concord)

Approximate Time Event/Speakers

12:45PM Volunteers arrive for assignments and training.

1:00PM Equipment set up underway or completed.

1:30PM Pre-Rally musical entertainment, conditions allowing.

2:00PM Rally begins: Entry of the Bedford and Boxborough Minutemen and introduction of Roger Shamel, President of the Global Warming Education Network, who will introduce special guest Peggy McKibben, and remarks of concerned students: Alex, Toby, Kate...

2:10PM Roger Shamel will do an alphabetical “Roll Call” of towns present.

2:15PM Roger will introduce Rev. Dr. Jim Antal, Minister and President of the Massachusetts Conference of the United Church of Christ, who will convoke those assembled, and then introduce Rob Garrity, Executive Director of MCAN (the Massachusetts Climate Action Network) who will introduce other invited guests/speakers, including MA Senator Marc Pacheco, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Global Warming and Climate Change, and MA Representative Will Brownsberger.

3:00PM Rob and Roger will referee a brief “Polar Bear Pull for the Planet.”

3:05PM Brief walk (5 min.) to Minute Man Statue near the Bridge for photo.

3:15PM Group photo, near Statue, facing the large maple tree near the Bridge.

3:20PM Group returns to flagpole, led by Bedford/Boxborough Minutemen.

3:30PM Program ends: Closing remarks, and networking among participants.

4:00PM Equipment removal underway or completed.
